Session Name: Get it Live, Get it Anywhere, But Get it Legally: The Challenge of Protecting Copyrighted Works in an Era of Live Streaming
MeetingType: Mid-Winter Meeting
Date: 02/02/18
Description: Advancements in infrastructure, decreases in the cost of bandwidth, and the proliferation of direct-to-consumer platforms have all contributed to an increase in live streaming—which has impacted many industries, including film, television, music, and gaming. While live streaming offers rights holders new opportunities for reaching their audiences, it presents unique challenges with respect to protecting their copyrighted works. This panel will provide a closer look at some of those challenges, and what rights holders are doing to address them.
